Stearman C3B

The Stearman Aircraft Company was established in 1927 by Lloyd Stearman and the company’s first production aircraft was the Model C3B open cockpit touring biplane. The C3 was also available with other powerplants as the C3C powered by a 150hp(112kW) Hispano-Suiza, the C3K powered by a 128hp(95kW) Siemens, the C3L powered by a 130hp(97kW) Comet and the C3R described below. A number of C3B’s were modified to C3BM standard as mail carriers. About 11 Model C3B’s survive with a small number remaining airworthy.
