Taylorcraft  F-21

The F-21 superseded the F-19 Sportsman in production and was basically a higher powered version of the F-19. The F-21A (6 built) first flew in 1983 and had a revised fuel system. In 1986 the company again changed hands and moved to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. The company was then resold to a new owner in 1989 and production was restarted with the F-21B (15 built) which had an increase in fuel capacity and a maximum take-off weight of 1750lb(794kg). The F-22 Classic was the name given to a revamped F-21B. Other versions were the F-22A fitted with a tricycle undercarriage, the F-22B Ranger fitted with a 180hp(134kW) Lycoming and the F-22C Trooper which was a F-22B with a tricycle undercarriage. Small numbers of the F-21 and F-22 series remain airworthy.
