The T 211 was designed by John Thorp and was a
development of the Thorp T-11 Sky Scooter (3 built) which first flew in
1946 powered by a 65hp(48kW) Lycoming and with a maximum take-off weight
of 1050lb (476kg). The T 211 was originally marketed by Adams Industries
and 14 were built from existing components. Thorp T 211 Aircraft Inc.
acquired the rights in 1985 and the type was sold in kits to
homebuilders.
