Travel Air 6000-B     


The Travel Air 6000 series was developed from the Model 5000 which was powered by a 220hp(164kW) Wright and which was basically the prototype for the Model 6000 which used the same engine and was first flown in 1928 and had a maximum take-off weight of 4100lb(1861kg). The Model A-6000A (25 built) was first flown in 1928 and was powered by a 450hp(336kW) Pratt & Whitney and had a maximum take-off weight of 5250lb(2383kg). The Model 6B (8 built) was first flown in 1930 powered by a 330hp (245kW) Wright J-6. A small number of the Travel Air 6000 series are active.
