Known as the Speedwing, the Travel Air A14D was one
of a number of similar three seat sporting biplanes produced by
Curtiss-Wright in the early 1930’s. The Model B14B Speedwing Deluxe was
powered by a 300hp(223kW) Wright and had a maximum take-off weight of
3067lb (1392kg). The Model B14R Special Speedwing Deluxe was powered by
a 420hp(313kW) Wright. Four of these Model 14’s are extant and it is
thought that one Model A14D is airworthy.
