Valentin Taifun 17E

Valentin Flugzeugbau GmbH were builders of gliders such as the Mistral-C when they designed the Taifun 17E and put it into production in 1982. The initial 100 examples were powered by an 80hp(59kW) Limbach and had a maximum take-off weight of 1808lb(820kg). A reduced span variant was the Taifun 12E (2 built) which was similar to the 17E but had a wingspan of 38’8.5" (11.8m). A fair number of Taifun 17E’s remain airworthy.
