Van's RV-1

Mr. Richard VanGrunsven built a Stits SA-3B Playboy in the late 1950’s and eventually acquired another. He decided to make improvements to his second aircraft and modified it with a set of aluminium wings. The result was the Van’s RV-1 which was the forerunner of the Van’s RV series of homebuilts. The RV-1 remains airworthy.
