The Spitfire PR.X1X was based on the Spitfire Mk.X1V
and was the final unarmed reconnaissance variant and entered RAF service
in 1944. The last operational sortie by a Spitfire was by a PR.X1X in
Malaya in April 1954. The type was last operated from Woodvale in 1957.
Several examples remain active.
