Volaire 10A     


The Volaire 10A, also known as the Volaircraft 1050 was a more powerful four seat development of the Volaire 10, (6 built) which was a three seater first flown in 1960 powered by a 135hp(100kW) Lycoming O-290-D2C. It had a maximum take-off weight of 1900lb(862kg) and two examples are believed to remain airworthy. Volaircraft Inc. was bought by the Rockwell Standard Corporation in 1965 and continued to build the Model 10A through their Aero Commander division as the Aero Commander 100, which was eventually developed as the Aero Commander Darter Commander. Around six Volaire 10A’s are extant. An example of the rare three seat Volaire 10 is illustrated below.
