Vultee BT-13A Valiant

The Vultee Valiant was used as a trainer by the USAAC and the US Navy during World War 11 and was built in large numbers in several variants. The initial production version was the BT-13 (300 built) which differed only in detail from the BT-13A. The BT-13B (1125 built) had a different electrical system and the BT-15 (1693 built) was powered by a 450hp(336kW) Wright R-975-11. The US Navy operated the BT-13A as the SNV-1 and the BT-13B as the SNV-2B. Production ended in 1944 and the type was retired in 1946. Around 100 examples are extant of which a large number remain airworthy.
