The Waco UEC was a more powerful version of the Waco QDC (32 built) which was first flown in 1931 as the first of the cabin Wacos. The QDC was powered by a 165hp (123kW) Continental and had a maximum take-off weight of 2507lb(1138kg). Eight Model UEC’s and four Model QDC’s are extant. The Model UIC (70 built) was first flown in 1933 powered by the 210hp Continental and with a maximum take-off weight of 2800lb(1271kg). At least 12 are extant. The Model UKC (51 built) was first flown in 1934 powered by the 210hp Continental and with a maximum take-off weight of 2850lb(1293kg). Seven Model UKC’s remain. The Waco YKC (60 built) was first flown in 1934 powered by the 225hp Jacobs and the Waco YKC-C (22 built) was first flown in 1935 with the same powerplant and a maximum take-off weight of 3000lb(1362kg). Small numbers of these models exist with a few remaining airworthy. A Model UEC is illustrated below.
