The Weatherly Aviation Company was formed by John C
Weatherly and the company began by converting examples of the Fairchild
M-62 Cornell for agricultural duties as the Weatherly WM-62C (19 built).
The Weatherly 201 (2 built) was developed from the WM-62C and the type
entered production in 1968 as the Weatherly 201A (5 built) powered by a
450hp Pratt & Whitney and with a maximum take-off weight of
4800lb(2179kg). The Weatherly 201B (45 built) entered production in 1971
and featured a number of small improvements and was followed by the
Weatherly 201C (38 built) which entered production in1975 which had
further small improvements made. The Weatherly 620 series are generally
similar but have a greater maximum take-off weight. The Model 620
entered production in 1979 and was followed by the Model 620A in 1989
which has greater fuel capacity. The Model 620B is 4" longer than the
previous models. One example of the Model 620TP has been flown powered
by a 500shp(373kW) P&W turboprop. A large number of Weatherlys are
active in South America.
