The innovative Atlantica has been designed by Alan
Shaw using the "lifting body" principle. The aircraft is built of
carbon/glass/kevlar composites and it was anticipated that kits would be
available in the summer of 2004 from Wingco Inc. of Melbourne, Florida.
During a take-off run in 2003 the prototype was damaged however work on
this design continues in 2006. The company anticipates a further jet-engined
version of the Atlantica and is actively seeking risk-sharing partners
for this project.
