Yakovlev Yak-18PM

The Yak-18PM was a more powerful development of the Yak-18P (125 built) first flown in 1959, which was basically a Yak-18A with a single cockpit , new undercarriage and fuel and oil systems, for aerobatic competition. As well as having the more powerful engine installation, the Yak-18PM had the cockpit moved further aft and the outer wings were redesigned and strengthened. A small number of Yak-18PM’s remain active. One example of the Yak-18PS was built. This was a lighter tailwheel version of the Yak-18PM and eventually was developed as the Yak-50.
