Yakovlev Yak-50

The Yak-50 was a redesigned version of the Yak-18PS which had only been flown in prototype form. Substantial changes were made including strengthened wings and a stressed skin semi-monocoque fuselage. It was in production from 1973 until 1986 and won the world aerobatic championships on at least five occasions. Some examples have a two-bladed prop and others have three. A substantial number remain airworthy with a large number now in the United States.
