Yakovlev Yak-52

The Yak-52 was a dual control trainer version of the Yak-50 with a shorter wingspan and a redesigned tricycle undercarriage. It can be operated with skis. Production was undertaken by IAv Bacau in Romania and when this company became Aerostar in 1991 they produced a version powered by a 300hp(223kW) Lycoming. Large numbers of Yak-52’s remain active.
