Although similar to the Zenair CH 701, the larger CH
801 has no commonality of parts with the smaller aircraft. It is of all
metal monocoque construction with a single door on the port side and has
a fixed tricycle undercarriage. Kits were available to homebuilders from
the Zenith Aircraft Company of Missouri, United States.
