The C-9B Skytrain 11 was
a military cargo/passenger version of the Douglas DC-9-30 commercial
airliner. It was operated by the United States Navy and the United
States Marines for cargo and passenger transport. The C-9A Nightingale
(20 built) was a medevac version for the United States Air Force which
could carry 40 stretcher patients. The VC-9C (3 built) was a VIP
Transport operated by the USAF Special Air Missions Wing. Two examples
of the C-9K transports were delivered to the Kuwait Air Force. A C-9B
operated by the US Marines is illustrated below.
