The Andover C.1 was a
medium range utility transport version of the Hawker Siddeley 748 for the RAF. It featured a rear
loading ramp for vehicles and other large loads. Tha Andover E.3 was a
version configured for radar calibration at RAF airfields. Since being retired
from RAF service a number have been sold to civil operators in Africa.
The C.1 shown below was sold for civil operations in Africa after
retiral from the RAF. It was eventually broken up at Lanseria in South
Africa.
