Rearwin 173 Skyranger

The side by side two seat Rearwin 165 Ranger was flown in prototype form in 1940 powered by a 65hp(48kW) Continental. The production versions were renamed Skyranger and apart from the Model 175, included the Model 180 (9 built) powered by an 80hp(59kW) Continental, the Model 180F (17 built) powered by an 80hp Franklin and the Model 190F (1 built) powered by a 90hp (67kW) Franklin. This was the last Rearwin design before the company was sold in 1943 to the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri who went on to build 296 examples of the Model 185 Skyranger, production finally ending in 1946. A small number of Rearwin 175,180 and 180F Skyrangers remain active.
