RFB RW.3 P.75 Multoplan

The Multoplan was a tandem two seat light aircraft with a high aspect ratio wing and its engine buried in the centre fuselage driving a pusher propeller mounted in a slot between the fin and rudder. It is believed that a handful of Multoplans remain airworthy. Other projects which RFB (Rhein Flugzeugbau GmbH) were involved in were the RFB Sirius 11 (1 built) 2 seat powered glider first flown in 1971 powered by 2X 30HP(22kW) Wankels and with a maximum take-off weight of 1322lb(600kg). The RFB Fantrainer 600 (50* built) was a tandem two seat trainer which first flew in 1980 powered by a 650shp(485kW) Allison and with a maximum take-off weight of 5070lb (2300kg). 47 were delivered to the Royal Thai Air Force and a few were operated by Lufthansa as trainers. It is possible that at least one RFB Fantrainer 600 remains airworthy in civil markings. Illustrated below is an example of a Fantrainer 600.
