The DR-109 is derived from the DR-107 One Design (20+
built) which was also designed by Dan Rihn. The single seat DR-107 was
normally powered by a 180hp(134kW) Lycoming and had a maximum take-off
weight of 1140lb (518kg). Kits for both of these designs are available
from the Aircraft Spruce and Speciality Co. of Corona, Ca. The DR-107 is
also known as the Aircraft Spruce and Speciality One Design.
