In 1969 CEA (Centre Est Aeronautique) changed its
name to Societe des Avions Pierre Robin. The range of light aircraft
which had been designed by Pierre Robin and which began with the DR.100A
Ambassadeur of 1958, were from 1969 known as Robins. In 2002 Robin
Aviation and CAP Aviation merged to form APEX Aircraft. The first type
to use the Robin name was the HR.100-200B Royal which was the first all
metal construction aircraft in the Robin range. A large number of those
built remain airworthy.
