Rockwell Commander 700

The Model 700 was developed in conjunction with Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan and the prototype made its first flight in Japan in 1975. Plans were made to install higher powered engines as it was thought that the type was underpowered, but the decision by Rockwell to sell off their General Aviation Division to the Gulfstream American Corporation put an end to the whole project. Although two examples of the Model 710 were flown powered by 2x 450hp(335kW) Lycomings, production was terminated in 1978. A small number of Model 700’s remain active.
